The Cruz del Herrerito, located at the top of a lush pine-covered hill, is one of the most emblematic and beloved natural spots in the picturesque town of Candelario (Salamanca). This viewpoint and recreational area offers spectacular panoramic views of the surroundings, allowing visitors to gaze upon the vastness of the Sierra de Candelario and the Hoyamayor valley. The place owes its name to a set of three crosses that crown the mountain, originating from a single historical cross to which others were added due to the growth of the trees so they would remain visible from the town. Today, the site is perfectly equipped with picnic tables, a fountain, and stone barbecues, making it an ideal destination for family hiking and resting in the heart of nature.
